Jazz Club with the Bob Bernard Quartet with special guest Paul Aldridge. Come and dine from our A La Carte menu or just enjoy the music.
Bob’s music career began at an early age after enlisting in the King’s Shropshire Light Infantry regimental band. Within a few weeks he was solo clarinet player and soon transferred to the Royal Military School of Music as a Junior Leader Musician. Studying under Professor George Garside for Clarinet and professor R. Tulip for Piano he continued to hone his skills in the military, touring the world with King’s Shropshire Light Infantry band and playing at various prestigious events before returning to England.
During the ’70’s, Bob played in many of the famous West End clubs – including the Astor Club – and also worked at holiday resorts and with various big bands. Into the ’80’s, Bob began teaching saxophone, clarinet, flute and jazz piano both privately and at several local grammar schools including Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge Girls Grammar for an impressive 25+ years. Since, he has become well known locally for the jazz courses he runs for students, wind ensembles and swing bands.
